📝 How to Apply for Law-GAT 2026 (Step-by-Step)
Selection Process
Follow
these exact steps carefully to avoid rejection. Any mismatch in your data can
disqualify you from the test:
1. Register Online: Visit the
official HEC testing portal at http://etc.hec.gov.pk to start your online
registration. If you face any technical difficulties during the process, you
can submit a query at https://onlinehelp.hec.gov.pk.
2. Fill in Personal Details
Accurately: Carefully input your Name, CNIC number, Cell number, and Email
address. Double-check everything. An incorrect CNIC (even a single digit error)
or using a relative's CNIC will immediately bar you from sitting in the test.
3. Upload Photo: Upload a
clear, recent Passport Size Picture with either a White or Blue background.
4. Pay the Test Fee: Generate
your consumer number from the portal.
Deposit the non-refundable and
non-transferable test fee through 1 Link / 1 Bill invoice payment services.
Crucial Step: After paying the fee,
log back into your ETC Dashboard and click "Verify Online Payment".
Your consumer number must remain valid until the closing date
5. Choose Test Center &
Submit: Select your preferred test center from the available list of major
cities. Choose wisely, because once selected, the Test Center cannot be
changed. Finally, hit SUBMIT. Applications left in SAVE or INCOMPLETE modes
will not be processed.
6. Application deadline: All
applications must be submitted by 19 July, 2026.
7. Important Instructions for
Test Day:
Roll Number Slips: You can download
your roll number slip from the portal one week before the test date. It will
also be sent to your registered email.
Contact Information: Ensure you
provide a valid email and mobile number. Do not use numbers converted from one
network to another, as HEC SMS notifications might fail to deliver.
What to Bring: On the test day, you
must bring a printed copy of your Roll Number Slip and your Original valid CNIC
or Passport.
Strict Prohibitions: Mobile phones,
calculators, recording devices, or any imaging electronic equipment are
strictly banned inside the center. Copying or sharing pictures of the question
book is a punishable offense.
Good
luck to all the law graduates! Don't wait for the final day—apply as early as
possible to secure your preferred testing venue. If you found this guide
helpful, drop a comment below and share it with your fellow law graduates!
